Afer two postponements, much welcomed by many local and foreign recreationists and semi-professional athletes, on 26 August 2007 the
1st Cres Triathlon was organised.
39 people took part in the race (7 of which female and 32 male), aged 8 to 61. All female contestants made it to the finish line, unlike male, where three contestants had to give up, due to various problems, before the finish line.
The race was organised according to the usual triathlon standards. Its length was 8 300 m, divided to usual ratios:
1. swimming 250 m
2. cycling 6400 m
3. running 1650 m
The race began at 5.31 pm from the nudist beach in Camp "Kovačine" and the first to arrive to "Karaula" beach was Aleksandar Abramov in 3. 56 minutes. The next task was to cycle a path with almost equal amount of uphills and downhills which proved to be a real challenge. The fastest to succeed was Mark Stobbelar in 13.40 minutes. Running along the shore was our contestants' final challenge, helped probably by loud cheers of many spectators. Many were exhausted by the previous two tasks so they' ve lost their positions, others gained them, while there were some who fought their own battles with one goal only- not to give up and make it to the finish line!
Mark Stobbelar was again the fastest contestant who managed to finish the task in 8.54 minutes thus becoming the winner of the 1st Cres Triathlon with total time of 26.09 minutes.

| …so swimming was the only task in which first two places were held by people from Cres, Aleksandar and Davor, their times being 3.56 and 4.08 minutes respectively… | Ascending from water after 350 m and the first "foto finish" was on the steps… |
